Kovini Moodley is a women Empowerment Activist often raising awareness on the atrocities that women face such as Gender Based Violence, Pay Parity Issues, Harrasment and other forms of Abuse
Kovini grew up in Shallcross, KZN, a small town south of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal and attended both primary and secondary public schools in the neighbourhood. She often reflects on the nurturing , supportive community that positively shaped her early years and is a key contributor towards her current achievements and accomplishments.
Kovini attended UKZN and completed her Bcom Degree(2005) and Bcom Honours with CTA in 2006 , she qualified as a CA (SA) in 2010 after completing her Articles at the prestigious Deloitte.
Her career highlights include being a part of the “Deloitte Family” and gaining tremendous experience in Auditing, Accounting and leading with excellence. Her exposure in leading large JSE listed audits as the Accountant in Charge set a strong foundation for her career.
In 2010 she started an exciting journey with Accenture South Africa and was responsible for leading teams across various skillsets to drive value propositions across leading JSE companies in South Africa. She leveraged her natural affinity for solving problems to drive tangible Transformative Change across industry leaders. Cost Optimisation, Implementation of Centre’s of Excellence, Strategic Organizational Design , Stakeholder Management , End to end process redesign and Exco presentations were part of her key SME skills.
She describes both Deloitte and Accenture as leading practice, transformative organisations with people featuring at the core of their operating models and notes her proud association as an Alumni member for life.
Currently she is the Head of Risk and Strategic Audit Transformation at a leading Medical Insurer.
Kovini has often focused on various projects of advocacy that have been close to her heart and allowed her to amplify awareness across these campaigns.
Systematic Racism:
As a voice for change in South Africa, Kovini has been vocal around sharing her lived experiences as a woman of colour to break barriers and change narratives for all women.
Over the past few years, she has focused her attention on raising awareness around systematic racism, microaggressions, and stereotypes that remain challenging topics in the South African context.
Diversity, Equity and inclusion implementations are critical elements that contribute towards psychological safety and shape the culture of environments. Most importantly, is a sense of ” belonging ” that defines and solidifies employee loyalty and representation.

As the founder of Boss Babes of South Africa®, Kovini often contributes to leading magazines, media releases and professional bodies, sharing her community’s challenges and possible solutions to address, patriarchal constructs, Bullying, harassment and pay parity discrepancies, to name a few. In 2023, it is unfortunate that many women still experience many of the above-mentioned unpleasant interactions that belittle and stagnate their growth.
Mental Health:

Kovini is a proud member of SAICA and IRMSA and has partnered on numerous occasions to lend her voice to the inspire and motivate young Chartered Accountants.
In 2023 Kovini launched her philanthropic venture to give back and inspire young professionals entering work spaces with the aim of uplifting the CA profession further and attracting young talent to pursue the profession.
